Anita Geins
Anita Geins is Spanish artist who has long evolved in shoe design. Her painting painting project began by chance when she discovered an old, yellowed sewing pattern in her new home. Fascinated by this find, Anita immersed herself in it for four years until she found her artistic identity. The artist uses Egyptian cotton from the 60s and 70s collected from her mother's fabric store.
Anita's paintings are first made in a very small format with the same fabric as that used for the final version.
The black spots are made from a water-based paint and natural pigments. The repetitive lines, for their part, are drawn with a pen with micro-pigmented ink resistant to water and light.
To achieve the characteristic golden color of old paper, Anita dyes the white fabric with black tea.
Deeply inspired by the work of Joan Miró, Anita Geins brings remarkable compositions to life, playing with space and lines to create a calming visual balance. Its minimalist aesthetic offers serene contemplation, similar to the calm aura of Japanese landscapes.
Influenced by Kumi Sugaï, a 20th century Japanese painter and Jungjin Lee, a Korean photographer and artist, her creations will transport you into worlds of poetry and emotion.
We will find the painted Egyptian cotton canvases by Anita Geins, the papier-mâché lighting fixtures by Crea-Re Studio, the works and small furniture in natural stone stamped Manifeste or even the duochrome street art of Maitreya.
Without forgetting the polished concrete of Thierry Rouyacque's bathrooms or the ceramics of Atelier CAIADA. Art and aesthetics occupy a major place at Maison de Magescq.
Transform our bed and breakfast into a refuge where beauty blends harmoniously with comfort, leaving an indelible mark. And where existing heritage dialogues with the works of local artists and craftsmen.
We are committed to sharing artistic emotion with you and introducing you to local artists. A visual symphony in a cocoon that is as creative as it is inspired. Some pieces are for sale directly and others available to order.
